Arley Incidents

An Arley man in his sixties has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences following a string of incidents in the area in recent days.

On 21 July the man was arrested on suspicion of theft, criminal damage, arson, blackmail, burglary and theft.

He has been released on police bail with strict conditions while enquiries continue.

The arrest follows several incidents, including a report of a male arriving at a garage and making threats following a dispute over payment and an attempted arson attack on an abattoir in Ansley in the early hours of 20 July.

Local Sergeant Adam Skelsey said: “We know there has been a lot of community concern and we would like to assure everyone that swift action has been taken and the man has had strict conditions imposed on him while we progress our enquiries."
